STATE HOUSE: Travel pay can be gravy for some legislators

even if it is 20 grand they make after you add everything up, Im fine with that. Its still boarderline fair considering the time put in, the BS, the constituent calls at all hours of the day. If it was 30 grand, then I'd complain...

Obviously we need another administrator.

Looking over Harrison's founders records: knit / sew / corn / labor / log / gravel / doc, family ...

Lawmakers should be respectful of taxpayers

Exact numbers are hard to pin down, but it's safe to say nobody's getting rich by being a member of the Maine Legislature. The notion that lawmakers go to Augusta to feed off the public trough is, when one looks at the actual dollars, absurd.

But the low pay should not be an excuse for the Legislature to neglect accountability when it comes to expense allowances for Maine senators and representatives. Unfortunately, such accountability is lacking.
