You should spend time raising money. If that doesn't happen fast, TABOR will be in big trouble.

We need more than one rally.
Please contact Jack Wibby in Yarmouth as we in Citizens Alliance are now planning for such things.
We cannot duplicate what happened last time with too many groups doing separate things.
It all sounds great but this time we must be united.
I will send this tread to begin the process.

Count me in to help where ever needed.

We need all the positive, free publicity we can get.

The well organized, well financed groups will do whatever they can to scare the average Maine person to death.

We must not forget ..... Those on the other side consider this the death of their gravy train. This is a life or death struggle for them and they will conduct their efforts with that motivation.

But will the TABOR supporters do the same? Will they invest their expected tax savings in the campaign?

Without TV ads, rallies won't matter.

Let's do rallies that are fundraisers.

All very good thoughts, and thank you Brent for suggesting the rallies!

I would love to see one in Augusta at some point, on the state house steps. Anything people want to do on their own local level would be great, too.

And yes - please make them fundraisers - chocolate works VERY, VERY well, we discovered recently! Heck, I suspect one could dip a kitchen sponge in chocolate, and somebody would buy it!

They won't be making cookies - precisely! They have OUR money with which to fight us!
Which is why we hope you'll send a sizeable check to the TABOR warchest.

It will be interesting to see who ponies up for TaxpayerBillo'Frights in the corporate world.

Anyone in the corporate world who contributes will likely have a solid bottom line in their own business.

They will be savvy, well-informed, and prudent in their own spending habits, that's for sure!

Re: Tabor rally?

[quote="lhsbluedevil200"]I support Naran's idea:

We should talk to Mary Adams about organizing a rally in Augusta in support of TABOR.

Naran: You're right. This media attention is awesome. If I’ve learned one thing from the Maine College Republicans, its’ that you have to have an aggressive press strategy (Look at all of the press they get!! www.mainecr.org ). Let’s take advantage of this while Senator Strimling et al are giving TABOR all of this media attention. We'll surely earn TABOR some more positive media!

Thoughts?

Forget Rallying in Augusta..to it on Monument Square at noon in Portland. You get more press and more folk turning out. You know no amount of rallying in Augusta will have any effect on our tax and spend legislature.
