It is reported that he refused to allow the family to be with Terri at the end. If true, he is one sick bastard. God is comforting her now. Michael's judgment is yet to come. Al
In a few weeks, most of the people will totally forget about this entire situation, and nothing will change. It is unfortunate.

It should read, Terri Schiavo was killed.
I believe the anger toward judicial activism will persist and will grow through the summer as a few more bad Judicial decisions come out and as the democrats insist on judicial picks who do not obey the constitution and make law from the bench.
I agree with Dale. Nearly 300,00 are dead and missing from the tsunami and that was 3 months ago. It'll all be forgotten within a week.

Lenny, you correct on this point, but the fault lies with the media on this one...It is thought that the average American has a relatively short attention span (or so I have been told and have read). So news groups have been flooding us for the last couple of months with this story and then went wall to wall coverage since the feeding tube was removed. They continually showed the balloon clip (which, I have been told is a clip from a 4 hour video, I don't know if this is true) and the same people saying the same thing over and over and over again. So, the average American probably tuned this out as soon as the tube was removed (IMHO). On Howie Carr yesterday, listeners were letting Howie know that they were so sick of this story that they were turning him off (changing the station). I wouldn't be surprised (IMHO) if some people out there have welcomed her death as a possible end to the media coverage. So the problem of people forgetting has to do at least some (I feel in large part) with the coverage that this story has gotten. This is not to say that this hasn't been an important story just that it has been over covered.I do truly hope that Terri is in a better place and that the family can begin to move on and find peace. May God Bless them all and you all also. Your defense of Terri has not gone unnoticed.Tru
I sincerely hope you are correct JIMV. A society cannot sustain many more intrusions on the foundations of our being.

Terri Schiavo Dies
Thursday, March 31, 2005Terri Schiavo (search) died Thursday morning around 10 a.m. EST after her parents had plead with her husband Michael Schiavo to allow them to be at their brain-damaged daughter's bedside in her final hours, a spokesman for the family said.Schiavo died heading into her 14th day without food and water amid what could be the final legal setback for her parents after the U.S. Supreme Court refused again to hear their plea to reinsert Schiavo's feeding tube.Wednesday night's decision came hours after a federal appeals court declined to hold another hearing on the issue. It was the sixth time since 2000 that the Supreme Court declined to intervene in the case. Justices did not explain their decision and there was no indication how they voted. It was also the second time in a week that the high court refused to hear the parents' appeal. The latest emergency request argued that the federal courts didn't consider whether there was enough "clear and convincing" evidence that Schiavo would have chosen to die in her current condition. Doctors say she has been in a persistent vegetative state for 15 years.A court ruling had allowed her husband and legal guardian, Michael Schiavo (search), to order the tube that has kept her alive removed.FOX[ 03-31-2005: Message edited by: Paul Mattson ]
