Tom Allen Thinks Fat People Should Sue McDonalds

George:Given the FDA, etc, and the status of Mikkie D's as an interstate franchise (and international as well), a commerce clause argument is more cogent here than in many cases I've seen.

If smokers can sue the producers of cigarettes which caused them health problems, why can't the fat people sue the people who sold them the food which made them fat and caused them health problems? I see little difference. Not that I approve of either, by the way.charlie

stop suing the cigarette folks as well. I got kidney cancer many years ago from smoking. I didn't feel that I had any right to blame someone else. Those who claim they never heard smoking causes all kinds of problems are liars at worst and clueless at best.

well, cite one instance of tobacco lieing in court, then cite one instance of fast food lieing in court. Which ever one you can't find must be the one that doesn't have the history. One may have mislead or created false impressions, but the other outright lied. Buyer beware unless he is lied to.

The socialists know they will get slammed if they raise taxes, so they think up these schemes to pour more money into their pockets. All in the name of "protecting" us.

charlien:Non-spoiled hamburgers are neither "unreasonably dangerous" nor "defective". Moreover, the danger of overconsumption is a danger which is obvious, and you do not need a manual to tell you that. PS: Why not sue the makers of sugar, butter and lard?
