Trümp Legalizes Cannabis

At least he did something right this week.

On Thursday, the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law, making hemp legal in all 50 states. Industrial hemp is pot without all that fun THC, but technically the same plant.

This will be a boon to our nation’s farmers, as hemp can be turned into biodiesel, paper, fiber, hempcrete, food, clothing, plastic, and CBD medicine. One acre of hemp produces as much paper as 4 acres of trees!

Guess someone forgot to tell Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh...

The biggest problem right now

The biggest problem right now with the new industrial hemp production is that the people with the most info are the burnouts that have been growing it for years.
Most can't put in a half a days work because they're too busy getting high or lose interest quickly.
The promises of profits beyond the norm are just smoke on the waters.
This will shake out eventually, and hemp will become just another farm commodity.

I don't know about 'big

I don't know about 'big pharma' but 'big brewer' has thrown a hat into the ring:

Corona Brewer Invests Additional $3.8 Billion in Canadian Pot Company

$3.8 Billion. Kind of makes me wonder what a realistic value of the black market economy might be.

Look only to Colorado to

Look only to Colorado to understand the black market - if you grow and sell pot in Colorado you face high taxes on the product - part of the desire by some Mane lawmakers to legalize - they simply want more money to spend. Unfortunately the product is smuggled to other states where it is illegal and thus a healthy black market is booming with product grown in safer environments than what would be sold by the cartels of central and south America.

Ooh! If the goverment places high taxes on grass, should we dress up as Indians and run down and throw Elizabeth Warren into Boston Harbor? Who's with me?
