Turning the page with Mills

Well I have to admit I didn’t see this one coming. I shot what I thought was a spike horn this morning. But when I went to the tagging station I was told that they are no longer referred to as spike horns because they are too young to know which gender they want to be. They let me off easy and said next time I’ll need to ask for a gender fluid deer tag.
Just kidding ,but can it be far off with Mills?

LOL... thanks for the chuckle!

Since we have no idea exactly how much damage and destruction will be caused by Janet Mills when she takes the helm, it seems very likely that taxes will be going up for everyone. I'm especially concerned that she'll firmly make Maine even more of a sanctuary state for illegal aliens.

I wish I could say I have an open mind about Mills, but I’ve had interaction with her on a business level and I am not hopeful for Maine business under her enlightened leadership.

How long do the horns on the youth have to be? Or do you go by ear gauge?

PS: please try to be gentle in gender fluidity comments; mattzine is quite fragile on the subject, and ze can only handle one triggered reaction per day.

The first think Mills will do

The first thing Mills will do is buy her way towards re-election for a second term, the way Baldacci worked it with "Dirigo Health Care."

Janet Mills is a climate

Janet Mills is a climate change warrior......how might that affect you. The goal is electrification for home heat through heat pump technology.did you think that old electric water heater you had was expensive to run? Wait until you are paying for peak kilowatts during the heating season.Take a look at your current winter bill and start multiplying...
The very worst part is the absolute dishonesty about where the electric in the northeast comes from, most is generated by burning oil and natural gas.....
So double down ,instead of heating your home with gas or oil you can use electricity that was produced by burning gas or oil....
The same people who are screaming about CMP’S 50 mile transmission line are perfectly okay with destroying the scenic beauty of Maine with wind towers on every mountain top. And the wind towers being subsidized by you the rate and taxpayer....
FYI heating oil and K1 are now 15ppm sulfur content ,as clean or cleaner than natural gas . Oh yeah ,and think about being forced to buy electricity ....you have about two choices ,so if you are unhappy with your service ,guess what you are screwed.
Not so with hundreds of independent oil dealers you have choices......Don’t believe the rhetoric ,this is a money making scheme for a few and a screwing for you,the Maine consumer. Climate change is just a foil
The coercion will not be subtle, carbon taxes, sales taxes, extra environmental requirements for home heating tanks, and heat systems.Wood stoves and pellets stoves will fall under more environmental regulation as well.
Kids the fix is in and you are the intended victim.
There are 16,000 Mainers whose jobs in the home heat industry will be in jeopardy under this administration’s anti fossil fuel agenda.......Think about it

This is from a long and

This is from a long and glowing article in the PPH ,somehow broadening the sales tax is not increasing taxes.....?Why do I get the feeling that there will no reduction in the state income tax but an increase in the sales tax? If read the whole article the laundry list of spending is long and deep.....where will the money come from .

tax. Mills said she has no intention of undoing LePage’s cuts, but she would look toward broadening the sales tax as way of lowering the income tax rate, still one of the highest in the nation.

Mills said she was heartened that the Senate’s new Republican leader, Sen. Dana Dow, seems open to the idea as well.

“I don’t have a specific plan to change the tax policy right now,” Mills said. “I’m not interested in increasing taxes.”https://news.google.com/articles/CBMiL2h0dHBzOi8vd3d3LnByZXNzaGVyYWxkLmN...

Mills will turn the page, as

Mills will turn the page, as again having hospitals and other medical vendors not being paid and the state again being buried in debt. Maybe this time we sell the Blaine House?

Would it be cynical of me to suggest there is an ominous message in Lepage moving to Florida, as in what he has accomplished over his 2 terms is about to get flushed?

Saw him recently on some program and apparently his wife is already in Florida setting up housekeeping. He did mention that he was going to stay there long enough so he could claim primary residence there and summer here, the point being that I think he is less than amused with Maine taxes and likely what sees coming with our attempt at fiscal suicide in form of the last gubernatorial election.

I wouldn’t be surprised if

I wouldn’t be surprised if the dems try to address the avoidance of state income tax through the six month and a day method.Nothing surprises me when it comes to the revuners.

In some ways conservatives

In some ways conservatives failed to realize ,not what was accomplished but how it was accomplished
the last 8 years , had a impact for the next 4 years.
Guess what , those are the ones who put Mills in the Blaine house.

Is someone complaining about

Is someone complaining about helping those less fortunate? Awww...

Haven't you heard that "Charity begins at home"? You should be happy to help your fellow Mainers, whose jobs were destroyed by the policies of prior administrations you thought so wonderful: higher taxes, higher healthcare costs, rising mountains of anti-business regulation, added internationalist trade pacts with resultant job exportation, even more open border immigration policies driving down wages, and all manner of wasteful spending.

But it's their fault. And the only solution is even more of the same...

By the way, Egomike, please point out a thread illustrative of my “racism behind every tree” perspective. Ill bet you a month’s supply of Udall’s Depends that you can’t.

Matt -

What's your point?

Your comment revealed your contempt for the citizens of rural Maine. Anyone with fourth-grade reading skills can see that. Let me repeat: you are a bigot.

And "behind every tree" is a metaphor, referring to your reflexive habit of accusing others of racism.

Nice try. Keep digging.
