Re: UPDATE: Lewiston High School

Just the typical response I would expect from a liberal - demonize the opposition with personal attacks. You learn from Michael Moore well!

Re: UPDATE: Lewiston High School

Unfortunately this happens quite often and needs to be exposed nationally. I was looking at cars parked in a Portland elementary school today and nearly all the staff cars had leftist bumperstickers from Kerry/Edwards to "Bush Lied And Troops Died". Several cars had multiple stickers and I could feel their passion. Imagine what they are filling the heads of young America.http://jednet207.tripod....

Tear off the bumpers. Scrap metal is at an all time high ;)

Re: UPDATE: Lewiston High School

There are a number of excellent educators at LHS. One of the government instructors is even contemplating a run for the Maine House...on the GOP ticket. One of our best Maine Reps, Rick Sykes, is the retired principal. So let's not paint them with too broad a brush. If the teacher that I ***think*** was involved turns out to be the one that WAS involved, I am not shocked. She has stood outside the door of the classroom where voter registration was taking place, urging students to register as Democrat I am told. That school has had a very active Democrat operating in there for many years. I am sure she resents a Democrat in her lair.A friend of mine teaches in the system and he was filling out a unioon info sheet and came across the question "Party Affiliation?". He asked a union official why they needed to know that. No answer.

Was the story in the Sun Journal anywhere close to accurate?

I have left messages with Oly and Brent to call since this was posted and neither has returned the call yet. So to answer that would be guessing, Dan

Gee, I'm beginning to think I was right in making Frostman's bobble an "Abominable Snowman." Sheesh. I must have ESP.For your information, buddy ol' pal, charlien has been posting on here for a long time. He's just been taking a wee hiatus, which we all do from time to time.Like, hey! There's an idea. As in - YOU might like to think about it! Yeah, that's it!! A nap might improve your temper.

What's the story, Brent? Is the Sun Journal correct? Did you change your story?

You know Dan, no answer is an answer in itself. I'll wait a while longer though, truth is important and tends to rise to the top once the emotional is boiled away.Remember WMD?charlie

Charlien...A win for the young Republicans...that the mantle of victimhood belongs, not to the aggrieved, but to whoever can point the finger of accusation most vigorously. The Democrats know this. It's about time the GOP understands it.

Or, and this is just a guess on my part, 'no answer' could also mean he has been advised to not say anything more, by his attorney. Just speculation, mind you...

I listened to Brent on Ray’s show yesterday. I suspect the silence is a chance for Brent to choreograph his story so he doesn’t sink further into the hole of deception. Brent, grab a dictionary and look up the words, could and would. Two different words, two different meanings. I am sure the one teacher did try to intimidate him, but with Brent’s own words, I doubt there was a threat. The statement, “You could get suspended if you don’t have permission” is not an implied threat; it is a warning of possible consequences. It appears one teacher warned of consequences, not a group making threats.Anticipating your response Brent.

Come on! He is very well spoken, especially for a high school student....

A "win" Bob?Do 'facts' and 'truth' not matter. This kid sounds to me like a "wannabe" rabblerouser quieted by being found not completely forthright in his "Press Release".I'll await his response too, Robert, and see where that leads.charlie

It appears Brent is pursuing a role in politics, he needs to realize young, that the truth stays the same, lies always change. By telling the truth the first time, allows you the ability to tell the same story over again without having to remember what you said the last time.Just because he is a well spoken high school student, doesn't give him a different set of rules.Either way, there was fault on both sides, live, learn, then move on to the next issue.

Just like Pavlov's Dog, the "average" AMG'er has a conditioned response.Instead of a bell the stimulus is the spoken or written word "teacher" and the response is ...well, predictable....

Yours is entirely predictable, Randy, in case you haven't noticed. If I'm remembering right, you are married to a teacher. Some might consider this makes you less than objective in such matters.

Re: UPDATE: Lewiston High School

And just like the Pavlovian response,
Randy rushes to the defense of all teachers everywhere because, well...Someone near and dear to your heart is a teacher!!!And no, Randy, this isn't an OUTING of that person. You, yourself have stated in the past what "she" does for a living. It is also OBVIOUS to me that the few who are suspecting Brent of being in the wrong have never, ever been bullied by a teacher.Well folks, I have news for you.It does go on.It happened to me many years ago in a small high school by a group of liberal teachers who just didn't like the fact that my father was in the military. Those same teachers were only about 5 - 10 years older than me and were dead-set against the Vietnam War. I'd also like to add that the pricipal was anti-war, too.Believe me, they had their ways to get their message across.Teachers are in their positions to TEACH, not to proselitize with their POLITICAL viewpoints.Edited to say: Mel, you beat me to the punch. I have family members who are teachers BTW also who will tell you that there ARE teachers out there who bully certain students.[ 10-06-2005: Message edited by: LMD ]

Nobody has stepped forward to correct the Sun Journal story so I can only assume that the College Republicans sent out a press release that was not accurate. That is unfortunate.

I beleive I threatened to fire them earlier in the other thread. How is that defending them?I rush to the defense of the truth. What are you defending, preconcieved ideas? They are doing well here it seems.Nice Teeth. :D

Re: UPDATE: Lewiston High School

First, thanks for the bobble-head. Those were funny :) However, I’m not sure anyone could have possibly thought I was being serious when I posted that… Here, read it again.

quote: Listen Pal, that’s just not the way we do things here at AMG… To save you further embarrassment, allow me to enlighten you… First, pick a side. Don’t post without bashing someone (usually someone in the media please). Second, you’re supposed to have already passed judgment prior to coming here. This should have been on the forum rules you signed. Third, truth is optional here at AMG. The only thing that matters is that you bash the “other side” as being evil, in the most arrogant and egotistical manner possible. And finally, don’t believe the intellectual physicists that post here. Every coin has only one side. All claims of this fictitious coin with two sides are made by uneducated scientists (total bunk) and perpetrated by the main stream media. Every coin has only one side. Our side.
Please don’t come back here preaching your logic, level-headedness, truth-hunting and common sense again. Come back when you think you’ve learned enough of how we do things here at AMG. There are many fine examples of these very principles on this very post. Others can be found in anything with “Shehan” or “TABOR” in the heading.

I honestly didn’t think I would need a “rolling eyes” emoticon for people to recognize the parody. Next time I’ll not take your reading skills for granted.
