UPDATED TRUTH-HAMMER - Assault Weapons for Dummies

Please feel free to print, copy, e-mail and get out in any way you would like. I own the image and you have my permission to "get' er done." We need to educate people and some times the simpliest approach is the easiest. Here is one to look at with a printable version linked to it so you can make your own 8x10 posters on your computer. The link is a hi-res PDF suitable for almost any size printing.

Have fun!

Ya can't tell folks often enough, "assault" is a kind of behavior, it's not a kind of object.

It will be interesting to see what weapons they will put on the assault list.

Specifically whether they will go beyond the Clinton Ban, the righteously sunseted bill and through the grace of a couple reps, it would be the law of the land now.

As always they will do it piecemeal, go with Clinton Ban, add a few obvious ones, than make the law vague enough so they can grab our 11-87 and 742's, how soon would the mini-14 be banned, if not in the original bill.

The garands and AR-15's may be safe for awhile because of the high power lobby, many old and aging vets.

You have to wonder how important the recent Supreme Court decision will be?

Will it as usual, be turned to allow reasonable restriction?

This:
Any stoppage of assault weapons used to murder citizens puts more fear into the hearts of Republicans. They need lots more than all those muzzel loaders available when the Consititution was written. Cheney and the GOP party heads have their followers convinced that the Arabs are going to attack America so weaponry has become more important than water.Locally an appointed group intends to close down STATE STREET behind the Capital Bldg because they are sure terrorists will come to Idaho and blow up this valuable state's newly renovated (at the cost of $43 Billion)capital bldg. Be afraid, get your guns - this is no long the home of the brave---well, brave if they have assault weapons. WUZZYS!
is what passes for reasoned and well informed anti gun argument in Idaho, which is why our gun friendly laws are expanding here.

In some recent commentary re

In some recent commentary re the Tucson shooting I saw the Glock semi-auto used in the shooting referred to as an "assault pistol" which is a heretofore unknown term to me.

I certainly think it demonstrates the complete ignorance of the writer and am guessing, a bit, that this may have come from the fact it had a high capacity magazine.

It is scary to see how little people actually know about something that they would like to regulate out of existence.

Sorry I do not have a link as I am writing from memory. I believe it was in a story carried by Matt Drudge.
