Mine is Mary Did you Know?
'The party 's over "
Always has been Little Drummer Boy. I am also partial to anything by Vince Guaraldi.
That is a nice song.
But my favorite is still "Hark! The Herald Angels Sing". Great message in a song that is fun to sing.
Joy to the World is a close second, even though it is not really about Christmas at all.
Mahalia Jackson singing O Holy Night , followed closely by her rendition of Go Tell It On the Mountain.
Solemn song - "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing."
Lighter side - the parody of "Twelve Days of Christmas," with the singers whining about inlaws, lights that won't work, having to send cards, and traffic. HILARIOUS, for those who've never heard it.
My favorite bit is the woman with an atrocious Bronx accent, saying "she's a witch; I hate her!" about her mother-in-law. Hysterically funny.
A well sung live version of Ave Maria. Gets me every time.
"Grandma got run-over by a reindeer"
"Merry Christmas from the Family"
Robert Earl Keen
I love watching Sidney Poitier in "Lilies of the Field." There is a song in that movie that gets to me right at the very end. Classic movie about the hope of Christ- "Amen, Amen"
I like "Santa Baby." : )
Ditto "The Twelve Pains of Christmas"
Serious: "Go Where I Send Thee" (sometimses called "Go, I Will Send Thee").
Silent Night...sung in French.
The Restroom Door Said Gentlemen
(Tune: "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen")
The restroom door said "Gentleman"
And so I walked inside,
I took two steps and realized
I'd been taken for a ride,
I heard high voices, turned
and found the place was occupied,
By two nuns, three old ladies and a nurse,
What could be worse
Than two old nuns, three old ladies and a nurse...
The restroom door said "gentlemen"
It must have been a gag,
As soon as I walked in there
I saw an old hag,
She sprayed me with a can of mace
And slapped me with her bag,
I could tell this just wouldn't be my day,
What can I say?
This just wasn't turning out to be my day...
The restroom door said "gentlemen"
And I would like to find,
That crummy little creep
Who had the nerve to switch the sign,
'Cause I have two black eyes
And one big bruise on my behind,
So I can't sit with comfort and joy
Boy, oh boy,
No, I'll never sit with comfort and joy.
I knew there was a reason I like you :) I love Mahalia Jackson's music, too.
Handel's Messiah (year 'round favorite)
O Come, O Come Emmanuel
All of Kathy Mattea's Good News album
"Christ in the Stranger's Guise"
I guess I'm a bit old fashion and traditional: Has to be Silent Night:
"Mary Did You Know" is probably the only Christmas song you can spell!
Silent Night...sung in German.
Burl Ives "Christmas is a Birthday."
Funny one Scott....I will remeber that...
SKF Is just getting me back for that comment I made about his age a few weeks ago...

for spirituality - Oh Holy Night
for fun - Great White's 12 Days of Christmas. Beauty, eh?
I like the one that starts out, "Bah, Humbug!"
Santa Clause bit done by Cheech n Chong
Jack, I believe that is "Christmas wrapping" or rapping - not sure of the spelling.
I post this album cover here every Christmas
The Messiah, Handels wonderful masterpiece that is so beautiful that the alleluia chorus sung by a good big choir takes my breath away, every time.
it's pure joy, it's how i picture the angels singing praises
"Jingle Bells" done by barking dogs.
Have you heard Manhiem Steamroller's version of Silent Night?
Oh Come All Yeah Faithfull would have to be my favorite.
