Here's another recipe for those bachelors among us:
1 head lettuce
1 bottle salad dressing (any kind, not Roquefort)
Wash head of lettuce over sink, pour dressing on head of lettuce, eat over sink; no cleaning, no dishes, no silverware
Everyone knows that bachelors don't eat salad.
Well Dem, you may have a point. How about this then:
Hot Dog Cuisine
14 oz. ketchup
1 box dark brown sugar
1/3 cup prepared mustard
1/3 cup cider vinegar
2-4 lbs hot dogs
Cut hot dogs into bite-sized pieces. Add all ingredients to crock pot. Heat for 2 hours and serve.
Not that I am suggesting that bachelors can't be good cooks

Yum. Hot Dogs.
For a different twist, try them with hot sauce and mayo. This is an attempt at matching the infamous Flo's sauce in Cape Neddick.
10 lbs. yellow onions
1 qt. molasses, Sugar Mill
1 c. white vinegar
1 lb. brown sugar
1 1/2 T. crushed red pepper
1/2 oz. Red Hot sauce
Put onions, and crushed red peppers in food processor or blender. Chop
Put everything in a crock pot and cook for 8 to 14 hours. Stir occasionally. Store in glass jars.
Oh, and like others on this thread, I grew up on codfish cakes!
I'm still missing those good old canned Gorton's codfish cakes, as well as some of the people who posted here when this thread first happened.
