Will Ron Paul Run as an Independent in the Fall?

"Says quite a bit about D'Amboise's character - doesn't it?"
I don't know what it says about Damboise's character, because I don't know what Snowe and Damboise had for an understanding between them, for one. For all I know her and Jacqu had said she wasn't going to run for reelection in 2012 and were working to groom him for a run for her seat in 2012.
Also in 2006 she had not voted for Obamacare or NDAA, maybe it says a lot about his character, watching a mentor continually compromising America's principles and deciding he had had enough?

Apollo
thank you for pointing out that even if Paul runs third party, he will draw from both R candidate and Obama, as many of you are so quick to point out, many former Obama supporters feel betrayed, and look to Paul as an anti-war candidate, and it is more than that. He will siphon from both electorate bases.
Now your assumption that a long time conservative or born again is just going to dump the Party because we don't agree with your party's choice for prez is a bit much. Why would we embrace the social democrats on a local, state, federal level because we are tired of spending trillions on preemptive wars.
There are many issues here on the state and federal level where we agree whole-hardily. Gun rights 4th amendment rights, less welfare, more work ethics, individual & property rights, protect our borders, getting America back to work by lifting the heavy hand of government and big corporations, end the FED, we won't be embracing socialism and endless borrowing because we don't agree to spend trillions on wars overseas or the Bailouts my god the cronyism, the Goldman Sachs.
You should also consider this about some of these ron paul supporters who grasped at Obama's hope and change, then found Libya and Goldman Sach and the same ole tired diatribe of Reid and Kennedy. They paid attention, while many of their same age group still cling to their government check and cell phone dialing 911.

Those are my "Big Four" issues as well. I will not compromise on them, as I believe them ALL to be life-and-death for us.
I'm a little bit more tolerant than Mike G.
If they voted for -- or supported -- one of the above but have repented -- and if they have explained to my satisfaction what made them change their mind -- I could vote for them.
I'm having trouble imagining any of the current candidates doing so.
